Daylight

By collecting elements from the past and bringing them to today, we create a Contemporary Traditional Celebration. The performance studies and at the same time highlights the beauty and simplicity of tradition, in every moment people blend it with today. The dancer is in a perfect connection and harmony with the musician while a mutual relationship takes shape, which they build with a series of steps and notes. The steps of traditional dance coming through the years, meet with the body, inspire and give the spark to this performance’s movements. The audience will have the opportunity to participate in and experience a traditional celebration made for the present.

Saltator Physical Dance Group and the music band EleKtroBalKana have studied and experimented with issues regarding the role of tradition in contemporary society and the reasons that we can a observe a return to it, even by people of a young age. During the rehearsal we were taught traditional dances from different regions of Greece and then we tried to understand their steps and transfer them in our own way through contemporary dance to the present, improvising in parallel with the musicians. One characteristic of the performance is that it takes place in the light of day. Specifically, it starts one hour before sunset. We don’t need a floor made especially for dancing and at the end of the choreographed part the dancers dance with the spectators and the spectators with each other.

Στο Φως της Μέρας
Συλλέγοντας στοιχεία από το παρελθόν τα μεταφέρουμε στο σήμερα και δημιουργούμε ένα Σύγχρονο Παραδοσιακό πανηγύρι. Η παράσταση διερευνά και ταυτόχρονα επισημαίνει την ομορφιά και την απλότητα της παράδοσης, για κάθε στιγμή που ο σύγχρονος άνθρωπος την αναμειγνύει με το σήμερα. Ο Χορευτής βρίσκεται σε τέλεια σύνδεση και αρμονία με τον μουσικό, καθώς αναπτύσσεται μία αμφίδρομη σχέση ακολουθίας από βήματα και νότες. Τα βήματα του παραδοσιακού χορού που έρχονται μέσα από τα χρόνια και συναντιούνται με το σώμα μας, πυροδοτούν και εμπνέουν την κινησιολογία της παράστασης. Ο θεατής θα έχει την ευκαιρία να συμμετάσχει και να βιώσει ένα Σύγχρονο Παραδοσιακό πανηγύρι.

Η πρόβα
Η ομάδα Χορού Saltator και το συγκρότημα EleΚtroΒalΚana Πειραματίστηκαν και διερεύνησαν ζητήματα που αφορούν το ρόλο της παράδοσης στη σύγχρονη κοινωνία και τους λόγους επιστροφής σε αυτήν ακόμα και από της νεαρές ηλικίες. Κατά την διάρκεια της πρόβας διδαχτήκαμε παραδοσιακούς χορούς από διαφορετικές περιοχές της Ελλάδας και στη συνέχεια προσπαθήσαμε να κατανοήσουμε τα βήματά τους και να τα μεταφέρουμε με το δικό μας τρόπο στο σήμερα μέσα από το σύγχρονο χορό, αυτοσχεδιάζοντας σε ένα παράλληλο δρόμο με τους μουσικούς.
